What is CC (Carbon Copy) in Email?
CC in terms of emailing refers to Carbon Copy in which a single email is sent to multiple people at a time wherein you need not write different emails to different recipients. Doing this could be a very easy thing but looking into the consequences of the same, you may find it complicated.
How to do CC (Carbon Copy)?
This feature could be used to send emails to secondary recipients without retyping mail to them. For example: you need to send an email to your manager and also to your colleague in this case, you may add the email address of your manager in the To: column and your colleague’s email address in the Cc: column. This will be sending same email to both recipients.
To do Carbon Copy in Email, follow these simple steps:
- Go to your email account:
- Click on Compose new email/ new email button where you click to write a new email
- Now, write the content in the content box.
- Add the primary receiver’s email address in the To: column and in Cc: column add the email addresses of the secondary recipients.
